Yes, you have read it right Star Wars Fan; your dream has been fulfilled by the Alamo Drafthouse cinema chain located in Omaha, Nebraska. The sole purpose of this movie theater is to make its audiences experience the true power of the Force while they sit on the Emperor’s Throne and enjoy the latest Star Wars franchise.
There’s a 10 foot tall Death Star hanging in the lobby, which is also operational, but it is not the only attraction of this place. The insides of the venue have been constructed in a way that gives its customers a spacy feeling of sitting inside the Death Star itself or could be inside a Star Destroyer. Who knows, it would probably look weird seeing the destruction of Sith by sitting inside the Death Star itself.
The ticketing booth of this theater is decked out to make it appear like an Imperial Command Center leading thousands of Star Destroyers to war.
To prevent its audiences from getting lost in this marvelous venue, there are signs pointing towards the auditorium where the movie plays. Do not get upset for not being able to duel using lightsabers, but you can surely sit on the Emperor’s Throne you can switch on the super laser of the Death Star for enjoying the destruction of the Alliance and other rebels.
One may ask the true motive of Alamo Drafthouse for making a Star Wars theme movie theater. According to the Creative Manager of this theater, “The idea behind the lobby is that we wanted to construct and install a lobby theme that would make us unique in our Omaha market as well as the midwest. We also wanted a theme that was built around an iconic film and to completely own that theme to immerse our guests in the experience. That is when Star Wars came into the picture and it just so happened that we timed it out just right with the announcement of the huge plans for a new Star Wars legacy starting this December. It is a permanent installation and will be the destination to see all of the new Star Wars films.”
Star War’s latest franchise “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits the box office on December 18th, 2015. Stay tuned.
