It’s over 1 decade and 3 years when the PlayStation 2 was introduced to the gamers’ world. Can you imagine PS2 Games on PS4 are launching tomorrow on a daily basis? Well, it’s going to happen in real. Sony Entertainment Network wanted to bring the games of PS2 into PS4 from the beginning. Wait, are they following Microsoft policy to conquer the gamers’ Hearts?
Shuhei Yoshida, the President of Sony Computer Entertainment reportedly said on the PlayStation blog about the official release of the PS2 games on PS4, He mentioned, “As we continue our celebration of the PlayStation 20th anniversary, we want to take a look back at the heritage that helped propel us to the brand that we are today. PlayStation 2 holds a special place in the hearts of many gamers who have fond memories of playing some of the biggest franchises in gaming.”
PlayStaion 2 games are still the best selling games after PS3 games franchise. There are eight games are mentioned to launch on the blog. The names of the games are given below;
- Dark Cloud — $14.99
- Grand Theft Auto III — $14.99
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City — $14.99
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas — $14.99
- Rogue Galaxy — $14.99
- The Mark of Kri — $14.99
- Twisted Metal: Black — $9.99

It is always a win-win situation for the game developers when they can continue the games which are discontinued before 15 years. Now, the player can experience 1080p full resolution display experience with 60fps gameplay. Well, that’s legit if it is about the backward compatibility.
As per now I found some interesting news for you. If you are attending the PlayStation experience in San Francisco this weekend the players will be allowed to experience PS2 games hands on review on the PS4 right there. Currently they are excluding PaRappa the Rapper 2 and The King of Fighters 2000 out of the list. But other 6 PS2 games will be available to play on PS4 on that day.
