Most of us know that Youtube was bought by Google but what was the thing that convinced her Google needed to buy YouTube. If you want to know about YouTube’s CEO Susan Wojcicki’s then you must have to read this article fully.
Wojcicki was overseeing Google video and in charge of its acquisitions in 2006. This big corporate of the giant search engine was looking at Youtube when it was a small startup of Silicon Valley when Wojcicki stumbled upon a video of Backstreet Boys “As Long As You Love Me” which was made by two boys of China where they were lip-synching to this song.
Those two boys were lip-synching in a funny way while their roommate did homework in the background was hilarious to the Google exec, she said onstage at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit.
Wojcicki said, “That was the video that made me realize that ‘Wow, people all over the world can create content, and they don’t need to be in a studio.”
This video clicked Wojcicki’s head and after six months she posted this video which led Google through the $1.65 billion acquisition of the video-sharing site. She loved this video after watching it and still it remains same in her favorite list.
