John Sculley, Apple Ex-CEO launches his new Phone company, naming as OBI with emerging a significant low cost selling structure method. Well, we have seen One+ and Xiaomi before as the low cost android phones, but here we might not see the low cost iPhone from Sculley rather we might find better low cost Android phones.
Get back to the history, in 1970’s John Sculley was a successful marketer for Pepsico. In the early 1980s Steve Jobs wanted to apply Sculley’s marketing strategy, as on Apple computers too. And guess what, he refused the Pepsico, a 4-year-old company for the sake of Apple! John Sculley explained, “He(Steve) looked at me and starred at me saying that you want to sell the sugar water for the rest of your life or you want to come with me to change the world and I melted.” Sculley had the solid business background and had the solid marketing strategy that could give Apple a sustainable stability and progress at that time, when IBM and Microsoft also were its biggest competitor. We all know Steve Jobs was fired on 1985 and joined Apple again on 1997 and the rest of his history.
Now John Sculley is aged of 76 and inaugurated his first Phone to the world, quite late hun? The name of the new phone is OBI world phones. Well that what we said as Apple Ex-CEO launches his new phone company with the naming as OBI. The phones do look like kind of Nokia Lumia but these phones are powered by Android. He already knows the western market saturations, where the higher costs phones and midrange phones are mostly sustainable mechanism. He also added,
“We are really inspired by the tremendous success of Apple iPhone, but Apple is really not our competitor to us or we to them.”
