Hold your breath HTC lovers! There is a good news and a bad news. Being an HTC fan, I would start with the bad news first. Though we already knew that the HTC Vive was on the verge of release, sadly it recently got delayed into 2016. This is clearly a bad news for the fans who were eagerly waiting for the Vive. But it has a twist. There seems to be a good reason for the delay.
The CEO of HTC Cher Wang said that the product is delayed for a ‘very big technological breakthrough’. When asked further, she did not reveal much. Rather created suspense so that people get more excited. She even added saying that the breakthrough will be revealed at CES in January.
I personally cannot wait any long. There is a high chance that the breakthrough must be a killer one as the company is potentially giving up the ‘first out the gate’ title, which will likely be a huge seller in this VR arms race. Hopefully the Vive will have something to do with space; at least, the users will feel like walking on the space with the headset on.
Here’s to hoping that the reveal is as mind-blowing as HTC is making it out to be.
