It’s time to get blitzed with some great technologies as the CES 2016 is just around the corner. As usual, Samsung will have its big presence with some of its crazy ideas. Though the show floor is not quite ready yet, there is something that will definitely catch your attention. A poster hanging in the main hallway, showing a smart fridge from Samsung with a big touch screen display on it.
You may get confused whether it’s a Photoshop mistake or not. At first glance, it looks like a standard smart fridge with a large Smartphone posted over one of the doors. The screen appears to be running a customized version of Android as there are Android-style capacitive buttons on the bottom. It’s still not sure whether the fridge uses Android or Tizen, but it could well be running the Linux-based Tizen.
You can surely say from the look that the smart fridge is going to have the similar capabilities to its other models released over the past few years. That means you will be able to read the news, make grocery lists, leave digital reminders and listen to music. Then what’s new in this smart fridge? Well, as it’s Samsung, it will always have some surprises in store for you. From the image, it looks like there is a voice input option. The screen also features “Groceries by MasterCard” where you can browse and buy groceries. Also, it features Pandora, Calendar and Weather options.
You will have to wait till Tuesday when Samsung will have its press conference just the day before CES 2016 to start. The show is all about electronics, so you will see new TVs, computers, refrigerators, and so much more announced and on display at CES this coming week.
