If you are looking for a better visual experience for gaming, it’s time for you to rejoice as Alienware, a division of Dell, has teased a groundbreaking 13-inch gaming laptop at CES 2016. According to the company, the laptop is set to be the first gaming notebook featuring an OLED display, asreported by IGN.
Besides using crystalline structures, OLED technology essentially uses organic layers to display information. That means, using a lot less energy than others, the screen is able to display at broader viewing angles.
Since the technology doesn’t require abacklight, OLED screens can output much deeper black levels that are sometimes able to brighten blacks up on other display types. Also, Alienware claims that it enables the display to have a one-millisecond refresh rate, which is very useful in agaming situation.
In terms of hardware, the new OLED Alienware is otherwise is no different from its other fellow. The price will also stay compatible with its previous Quad-HD display model and it starts at $1499. You should opt for Alienware 13 when it releases in April if you are looking for a heavy duty gaming machine without the need for consoles. It could raise the standard for laptops and we hope that other gaming laptops will soon start using OLED screens in their machines.
