With the beginning of 2016, many smartphone companies have come up with some good Android sets at a cheaper rate. Alcatel, a recently popular company, will bring its Alcatel Idol 4S packaged in a certified Google Cardboard viewer—the plastic packaging is hiding lenses and a headband inside, so you can start VRing out of the box.
The company has been synonymous with cheaper Android phones. But its Idol 4S is supposed to be different and useful. According to Evan Blass, the serial leaker, the leaked photo does make sense. Though the phone has only one or two leaked pictures out on the internet, they are creating buzz among the users as it is the packaging that turns it into a VR headset.
Alcatel leaked a few specs and the teaser line ‘Your World Augmented’ on its own site. According to those specs, and others added by Blass, you could be in for a treat.
So this Alcatel Idol 4S has –
- 5-inch screen
- octa-core Snapdragon 652
- 3GB of RAM
- microSD slot
- 16-megapixel rear camera with an f2.0 lens
But the price range is a question. If it comes in $400, it could be one of the cheapest all-in-one VR solutions to hit the market. It’s only two weeks until MWC, so get ready to have a VR set.
