Do you want to find out how many precious hours of sleep you lose by remaining awake throughout the day while randomly surfing either on fb or other sites, doing nothing? Now facebook lets you discover how many hours of sleep your friends are catching throughout the week.
As we oftentimes spend time on facebook and/or fb messenger right after waking up in the morning and even during late nights while our eyes remain droopy. As a result, Soren Louv-Jansen ended up constructing a tool that helped him to combine all information related to the sleeping patterns of his friends on facebook.
The creator of this latest mechanism Mr. Louv has published the source code on GitHub who later elaborated on its functionalities on Medium. As a result, he found out that the pattern of sleep always remains normal, however, highly fluctuating during the weekends.
In the midst of this, Facebook (fb) sounded unappreciative and highly concerned regarding this event. As stated by Mr. Louv himself that Facebook does not want its users using this latest software which has the ability to track sleep.
Usage of this software causes a violation of its terms of service when already over a thousand users have already downloaded it. The developer of this software still has not removed it just to make us aware of how much vital information we end up giving away without our realization. Never skip your night sleep if you want to live a healthy life, at least, 6 hours is mandatory!
According to Mr. Louv’s statement given to The Washington Post,
“My point was not to spy on my friends, and I want people to be aware that they’re leaving some digital footsteps everywhere they go.”
