Great news for Marvel fans! Netflix is going to flesh out its grittier Marvel shows with the release of Luke Cage. Lead actor Michael Colter revealed on the red carpet for the New York Coty premiere of Daredevil season two that Marvel’s third defender series, Luke Cage, is officially set to debut on Netflix on September 30th. So, after Daredevil’s second season kicks off, you just have to wait half a year to meet the Power Man.
“It’s gonna be action-packed from the beginning to the very end,” said Colter. “Trust me. Daredevil premieres March 18, and I will see the fans on September 30.”
Fans got their first look at Cage aka Power Man in a supporting role of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. And you already know that he comes with superhuman strength and unbreakable skin. However, he was first introduced in Marvel Comics back in 1972.

Albeit Colter didn’t reveal what the new show is going to entail, the basic premise is known to most of the Marvel fans. Here, you’ll see Cage move up to Harlem following the events of Jessica Jones. There, he’ll have to deal with enemies ranging from Cottonmouth to Black Mariah. Besides Colter, stars of Luke Cage are Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, and Sonia Braga. Colter’s performance in Jessica Jones and the effort put in the first two Marvel series by Netflix indicates that another amazing show is going to rock this September.
