
A source from TechRadar revealed the secret of the next iteration in Rockstar’s famous franchise, of Grand Theft Auto VI, said to be considered in Tokyo. The source also revealed some interesting details of the gameplay and story as well. In the first place, the anonymous source told the site that Rockstar Games was considering making a “full” Grand Theft Auto game set in Tokyo and even sent staff to the Japanese city for an exploration trip.

Our source added that, as time has gone on, Rockstar has realized the difficulty in moving Grand Theft Auto outside of the USA, where it has firmly embedded itself. There are a number of series staples, from brands to cars, that Rockstar would likely have to change if a future GTA was set somewhere else.”
TechRadar likewise brings up that Rockstar guardian organization recorded trademark applications in 2003 for GTA: Tokyo, and in addition GTA: Bogota and GTA: Sin City. None of those ever appeared.
