Are you concerned that you may go over the speed limit, or do you know someone who does, and are concerned for their wellbeing? Then tell them to get this app, Waze.
The Google-owned Waze is a community-based traffic and navigation app. The latest update it brings has a lot to do with speed limits. The app essentially notifies you when you are going over the speed limit.
How it works
When you are going over the speed limit, an alert in the form of a visual will be shown on the Waze speedometer. The alert will be there unless the speed goes below the allowed limit.
As with all other things in the world, not everyone will have access to it. Currently, the app is only available in these regions: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Czech Republic, El Salvador, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad, Tobago, and Uruguay. Of course, there is the promise that this will be expanded to include more regions later on.
There are various other functions like a sound alarm or whether the app will alert you when you are crossing the speed limit by a certain percentage like 5% or 10%.
The update should arrive on Android and iOS soon.
