Looks like Facebook Messenger doesn’t want you to leave its chat window. It already lets you share videos and images with your friends by accessing your camera roll without leaving the app. what if you want to share something that is saved in your cloud storage rather than in phone memory? It would be quite difficult unless you use Dropbox. The cloud storage company just announced today that it’s now integrated into Messenger on both iOS and Android. That means you can share your Dropbox files over Messenger to whoever you’re chatting with.
From now on, whenever you want to share any files, just tap the more button in Messenger and you’ll see the new Dropbox interaction. You can share any files from there with the Dropbox app installed on your phone. You don’t even have to leave the Messenger app.
If the shared files are videos and images, including the GIFs, they will be displayed directly in the chat window. For everything else, you’ll have to jump out to Dropbox app, where you can preview and save files.
“We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about,” said Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger. “Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.”
So, if you want to share your vacation photos, videos or any important document saved in your Dropbox, nothing can be easier and quicker than just grabbing the Facebook Messenger app from App Store or Play Store and start sending files while you’re chatting.
