For all the bookworms out there, having a Kindle is a tradition and it can do more than just download ebooks available online.
Despite knowing a few unique features integrated into the Kindle’s system, there are a few ones you may not have known. Read below for tips not found in the Kindle user guide.
Access to library books:
Accessing to the local library books, you need to visit its website and click on ebooks section for selecting your desired book(s).
Before checking out your book, make sure you are signed in to your Amazon account and check on the type of reading device you are using.
Your desired books will be sent to your account that can be downloaded later using Wi-Fi connection.
By now you may have already known how to share books with others belonging to the same community of bookworms.
The Family library account helps in linking two different accounts in the Amazon store. Follow the steps for sharing your books too:
Menu> Settings> Registration > Household > Family Library > Add a New Person > Add Adult.
Since two persons will be sharing each other’s personal Amazon account, keep in mind that this will result in the exchange of usernames, passwords and also credit card information; therefore, share books only with an individual upon whom you can blindly trust.
Capturing screenshots in Kindle Touch, simply hold the “Home” button and gently touch its screen. In the case of an original Kindle device, press and hold down the “alt+shift+G” buttons for capturing screenshots. You can later view those images after connecting to a PC via USB cable by exporting the file into the .png format.
Easy conversion of documents:
For fast and easy conversion of a file, simply type “Convert” in the email subject portion and send the file to “Send-to-Kindle” email address, and the file will be automatically converted to (.azw) for your Kindle.
Kindle reading for you:
When you don’t feel like reading or are already occupied with an important task, the Kindle has “Text-to-speech” functionality which will read your desired documents or books to you.
After opening a book or document, press and hold the “Menu” button and tap on the “Text-to-Speech” option which shall activate the Kindle’s robotic voice for reading documents to you.
The above are the obscure functionalities in the Kindle user guide unknown to us. Hope this article will be of help and feel free to contribute.
