WhatsApp recently came up with a new update in which the messages of its users are better protected. But the truth is, your chats maybe not be as safe as you think.
After adding the special end-to-end encryption feature to sending messages, photos, videos, or voice memos, it became impossible to trace users for the government and other agencies. A very safe feeling, because it will happen when you see you accidentally sent that drunk selfie somewhere else. But now there’s a chance that your posts are not completely safe.
Long Live Group Chat
But how? The answer lies in the group chats. Everyone has opened a number of group chats, but often not all users updated their WhatsApp. This makes your messages therefore not protected in the group chat. And this might just mean that governments, spies or other interested parties can simply read along in the family app with your very interesting conversation about a Mother’s Day gift. Fortunately, there is a solution for everything:
Tap on the Group chat and then tap on Group info and then on Encryption. A warning message will show up. So you can easily see which user’s WhatsApp must yet be updated.
