OnePlus started offering plastic VR goggles since Monday afternoon so that OnePlus lovers can witness the launch of the OnePlus 3 in Virtual Reality.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is going to launch the long-awaited OnePlus 3 sometime between mid-June and late July. Like last year, the launch will be fully streamed with Virtual Reality. Last year, just before the launch of the OnePlus 2, OnePlus also announced cardboard VR goggles, similar to the Google Cardboard. And this year the company has gone much further as it has already handed over 30,000 plastic VR glasses called “OnePlus Loop.”
According to OnePlus, Loop VR glasses are suitable for almost all smartphones with a screen size of 5 to 6 inches.
Loop VR goggles were available for purchase since Monday afternoon on the OnePlus website. The headsets were free of cost and only users outside US/Europe had to pay for the shipping. The first batch of 30,000 is already completely sold out. It is not known whether OnePlus will go for another ‘hand out’ batch Loop VR goggles at a later time.
Anyone who has ordered a Loop VR glass will get them delivered from June 6th. Given between the delivery date and the actual delivery date can sit for days or weeks, it is expected that the announcement of the OnePlus 3 will take place no earlier than the end of June. Until now, OnePlus has still not revealed an exact date when OnePlus 3 will be presented.
