Users of the Samsung Gear S2 received a major update for their smartwatch. The update adds several new features and capabilities.
Samsung, yesterday, started rolling out a major software update for the Samsung S2 Gear smartwatch in many parts of the world. The update is about 60 MB and can be downloaded to a Samsung smartphone via the Gear Manager and installed on an attached Gear S2 smartwatch.
The update adds several new features and capabilities to the Gear S2. After the update, for instance, it’s possible to look directly at smartwatch for new apps to download and install them directly on the gear S2. Previously, this was the Gear Manager needed to be used on a connected smartphone.
Samsung also has several changes to the interface of the smartwatch. For example, in certain apps become the interface which flatter and gear S2 now offers the ability to use your own photos as Watch Face or background. It can be set up to 10 photos as Watch Face.
Furthermore, the update brings some new features like the ability to share activities that the gear S2 record, automatic sleep recording, and analysis, new commands for voice assistant S Voice and a separate app for contacts.
