From now on, Plex users won’t have to be stuck with the old Windows 8 app. The media streaming server app has been re-written as a Universal Windows app for Windows 10 devices. Users will get the same Plex experience across their desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms. The mobile release of the UWP app is under work, but the company promises it will be released soon.
Plex is rebuilt to take advantage of Microsoft’s new Universal Windows Platform. This app comes with all new design, as well as Cortana integration. It’ll also use Windows Continuum when the mobile version launches.
Windows Continuum is a feature that lets mobile apps morph into their full-sized desktop apps when a Windows phone is connected to a keyboard or monitor.
The app also supports Hubs and discovery. The update is currently available in the Windows Store, so grab it if you want to update.
