Snapchat has long been an app that made it really difficult for people to find new and interesting people to follow, till now. Alongside the recent launch of Memories, the team quietly added a feature that will let you recommend accounts to your friends. Called ‘suggest,’ this feature is more like connecting two people on Facebook.
Snapchat allows adding accounts by using QR Snapcodes, nearby features and, obviously username. However, there was no such discovery engine that could help the new user to find something worth following. Using the suggest feature, now you can suggest someone something worthy to follow. From the stories list, if you find someone worth following, just tap and hold the name to reveal a blue arrow on the right side. Click on it and there will be an option to send account recommendation to your followers. The recommendation will be set as a private chat.
Besides introducing your friends to each other through Snapchat, the suggest feature can be a great tool for people who share stories. It can be a wider exposure for them. Previously, you had to manually send the exact Snapchat Handle to your friends, which they had to remember and type in the Add Friend interface and then add it from there. Now you have an easier way to discover the best snapper in your squad.
