A 16-year-old Japanese boy managed to successfully shut down 444 school websites –including primary, junior high and senior high schools. It has been reported that he DdoSed the websites of his school for making his teachers realize that their expertise and skills are insignificant.
The accused teenager was apprehended on 11th May by the Osaka Police Department who reported that this 16-year-old initiated this “denial of service” attacks against the Educational Board of Osaka that comprises of 444 web pages of various schools in Japan.
The hacker instigated these attacks last November when he was in junior high. Currently in high school, the Osaka Police firmly believes that the environment of his school mainly motivated him in carrying out this task.
According to this teenaged hacker,
“I hate how the teachers talk down to us and never let us express ourselves. So, I thought I would remind them of their own incompetence. It felt good to see them have problems. I did it several times.”
The teenager’s laptop, as well as a few books on hacking, have been confiscated by the Police. The boy has claimed to have downloaded a DdoS instrument, which then kept sending a humongous volume of data to the server of the Educational Board of that area. This resulted in the website to crash and remain inaccessible for hours.
The 16-year-old hacker has desires to join Anonymous hacking group in the future. He also reported to the police that through his activity he only wanted to close down his own school’s website and had no idea that this would affect others.
