If you’re still mourning the unexpected departure of Kickass Torrents (KAT), there’s another iteration of this famous pirate site that has appeared on the internet. As reported by The Verge, this clone is called KAT.am, which is currently live and comes with the entire KAT database including the user account information.
KAT’s original domain was seized by the homeland security department and with the help of Facebook and Apple, they also managed to arrest Artem Vaulin aka Tirm, founder of KAT. However, the world’s most favorite torrent site made a comeback as Dxtorrent and kickasstorrents.website, which as some reports urged is not a mirror backed by IsoHunt.
Creators of KAT.am sent an email to The Verge claiming that the site is “hosted on multiple cloud servers to prevent blockade, and the hosting information is well hidden behind Cloudflare.”
Those who download movies and TV shows on a regular basis won’t be surprised with Kickass Torrents’ rebirth. Even The Game of Thrones fans can relate this scenario. Coming back from death, again and again, is pretty common for those pirate websites. In the past, Pirate Bay also faced the same scenario and now is running smoothly with all its vanity and of course, with the .org domain. So, no matter how much the security agencies and copyright holders try to stop those pirate websites, they will come back again.
