Children who were left behind in a car and died due to heatstroke is sadly a pretty common news during summer. Sadly but true, hospitals are alerting new parents to the risk, but this piece of paper is easy to forget. However, you can have a real-time reminder thanks to Waze, for the newly included child reminder feature.
Waze, one of the world’s popular navigation apps, recently added a new feature in their beta version called child reminder, designed to prevent the cases children forgotten in cars. Once enabled, it will prompt users that they have children in the car every time the driver has completed the journey. The driver can turn on and off the feature on the definition screen and compose their message that will appear. This option is important so that the parents won’t get too accustomed to ignoring it.
Obviously, this feature is optional (not everyone has a baby), and can be used as a reminder for pets. As of now, this new feature is in beta version and it is still unknown when this feature will be included in the next updated version. Well, as we are in the middle of the summer and this feature is essential during this season, we can hope that this feature will soon be launched in one of the latest updates of Waze.
