The Samsung Galaxy Tab S, the high-end tablet from Samsung that was launched in 2014 won’t get more updates in Europe. Despite the fact that it was being heard lately an Android 6.0 update was in development for the device, Samsung has confirmed it won’t release the update.
The company namely has hinted that there is no update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be more for the tablet. To emphasize that the Galaxy Tab S flagship was among the tablets by Samsung that even got a special ‘launch event’ in the Netherlands in July 2014 organized for tablet buyers. Typically, more expensive Android smartphones and tablets are kept at least one and a half to two years up-to-date by manufacturers. That doesn’t seem to apply to the two-year-old Galaxy Tab S.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S was the most expensive tablet from Samsung in 2014. Throughout its lifecycle, the Galaxy Tab S received only one update, actually inappropriate for a tablet in this price range. The tablet was launched with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and later received an update to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
