Fitbit unveiled the new Flex 2 activity-tracking wristbands. This is the latest versions of the fitness trackers.
Like the previous versions Flex 2 is light, simple and slim. Many though they will add a screen this time but they didn’t, it uses five tiny LED lights to tell you how far along you are in your daily step count, signal when you’ve reached an activity goal, or alert you to Smartphone notifications. It’s missing a heat rate sensor and GPS.
Flex 2 has Fitbit’s signature Smart Track feature, which allows it to recognize certain exercise activities. It will vibrate to remember you that your staying still for too long. Most notable addition to flex to is that it is “swimproof” means its water proof up to 50m. It will also automatically recognize when you’re swimming. Expected battery life of this device is also good. It’s claimed to stay charged for 5 days.
Flex 2 is not a revolutionary design in any way or even that much different from its predecessor or its competitors but brand value of Fitbit is very important here. This is what sets it apart. It is currently available now at a price of $99.
