For years, it’s been a badly kept secret that Snapchat is working on a secret glass. However, a recently leaked video from The Business Insider shows that the rumored glasses are actually true, giving us our first up-close glimpse.
Reportedly called “spectacles” the glasses feature a camera and a LED ring Flash on the frame, similar to the prototype that CEO Evan Spiegel had been wearing in public about a year ago.
As the video starts, the ring flashes, apparently signaling its recording. You can see through the rest of the video that what people might want to capture. It can be your kid’s birthday party or some awesome moments you want to capture and share. And as its Snapchat, there’s no doubt that you can store those videos in your mobile.
The company has aptly changed its name as Snap.inc as they are expanding beyond the app and into sunglasses. The spectacles will be released this fall for $130, but only a limited number of pairs will be available. Unlike the Google Glasses, these glasses look more fashionable and something that anyone could wear anywhere. So, if you want to have the fun wearing those spectacles, just have patience till the fall.
