Hackers attacked Yahoo, the American multinational tech corporation. It ensured that hackers stole information from 5 hundred million private accounts in that cyber-attack. Those hackers stole client names, email addresses, birthdates, telephone numbers, and passwords as Yahoo informs.
But, Yahoo said, fortunately, hackers could not find any bank account or credit card information. As a matter of fact, it could be deadlier if hackers found the financial information from users’ profiles.
Tech intellects are deeming this attack as the largest cyber-breach in history.
The attack came to pass in 2014, though Yahoo made it public now. The company claims that the cyber attack was state-sponsored.
Yahoo Urges to Change Password
Users of the internet portal are requested to change their password as soon as possible. Currently, the number of users yahoo has is about 1 billion.
In August a hacker named “Peace” tried to sell 200 million Yahoo users’ information. The authority noticed the triumph of selling its users’ information.
The investigation team made Yahoo’s assumption wrong. Rather, according to the investigation report, cyber security employees at the organization did not have any idea about the cyber attack in 2014.
However, U.S. telecom company Verizon bought Yahoo this year in July costing 4.83 billion dollars. Verizon stated that they did not know about the cyber attack even two days ago. FBI is investigating the event.
