Snapchat is the new way millennials communicates with each other. Snapchat became so popular and huge that other social media companies are trying to copy its method of success. There are exact clones like Snow and there are also big names like Instagram who copied features from Snapchat. Facebook is also covertly experimenting with Snapchat like features lately.
First, there was Instagram Stories
The first attempt was done by Instagram Stories like Snapchat users could upload a picture with text and emoticons or a video which will disappear after 24 hours then came Facebook’s Lifestage. This is essentially an adult version of Snapchat with age restrictions. Now there is a rumor that Facebook is testing “Messenger Day” embedded in the Messenger app which acts almost the same as Snapchat.
Messenger Day is only available in Poland right now and it makes scenes because Poland has the least number of Snapchat users at the moment. Facebook stated that it is only a small test and it may or may not become available in other regions.
“We know that people come to Messenger to share everyday moments with friends and family. In Poland we are running a small test of new ways for people to share those updates visually. We have nothing more to announce at this time.”
