As most of the things now can be done by robots, craving a robot that can help you with the house won’t be a crime. Texas-based NXROBO can completely understand your desire and is almost close to bringing that into reality. The company developed a natural interaction robot that can be the home assistance you always wanted.
Dubbed Big-i, this distant relative of R2-D2 comes with mobility, voice programming, 3D vision, as well as active perception. It can easily manage daily activities of a home and acts as a bridge between your family members. Big-i takes charge of small daily home activities that you are prone to forget and lets you live a peaceful and tension free life with your family.
Robot that learns anything you want
What makes Big-i a unique one is its ability to learn anything you want it to do. It comes with the ability to recognize your face as well as your voice, your family members and all the people you care about. All you have to do is just to tell it once what to do and it will remember forever. For instance, if you say, “Hey BIG-i, if I am leaving home and it is cold outside, please remind me to put on a scarf,” it will do so.
Starting from your kitchen to your daily activities, Big-i can be of your help anytime you want. With just some basic information in advance, it can do many things for you. Its abilities aren’t only limited to reminding you everything, but also it can control your other smart appliances.
“The potential of BIG-i is unlimited — the only limit is your imagination. Despite the diversity of people, BIG-i will always provide the appropriate service to each and every individual. BIG-i will grow with you, and become as unique as you are,” the company says.
How does it work?
As you command, Big-i receives them through voice programming and translates them into text through speech recognition. It runs on an operating platform called NXROBO OS, which helps it to finish the task after receiving your command. You can also download more apps from NXROBO OS app store to make it better.
NXROBO has started a Kickstarter campaign that has 20 days more to go. If you want one of these amazing robots to be your home assistance, pre-order it for $749. The company hopes to ship it by April 2017.
