Cult followers of THX will be disappointed because the cinema certification outfit founded by George Lucas will now operate under the Razer banner. Razer is well known for its gaming PC’s and peripherals. Despite the Razer buyout, THX will keep its management and employees, which is a very good news and it will operate the same way as it was doing for the last 33 years. “With their focus on quality, design and innovation, Razer supports our vision to optimize and deliver the best audiovisual experiences to audiences worldwide,” THX CEO Ty Ahmad-Taylor said in a press release.
We're excited to announce that @THX has joined the Razer family.

The exact size of the deal is not clear yet and it is still not stated, nor is how Razer is planning to use THX as a part of its portfolio. But we know for certain that Razer plans to do a lot with the company. THX clearly stated that it’s working to expand its approval stamp to headphones, augmented reality and virtual reality, “and their enabling devices.” So, In the future, we can see that THX-approved PCs are going to be a thing too, in addition to things like speakers, laptops and maybe even monitors from Razer.
So what do you think about this buyout?
