Remember the time when there was a public chat option on Facebook? If you were missing it then you have something to get excited about. Officially Facebook plans to revive its public group chat feature. This feature will first roll out in two countries Australia and Canada, FB authorities told the Courier Mail. There was some leaked information of the app and it sounds like it will be similar to but not as same as the Rooms app of old. The method will also be very simple. You have to only create or search for a room with a specific topic and then you can join. It will also be somewhat secure and troll proof because you can activate require approval for new participants.
It is still not clear when or if Room will be available in US or UK or other countries. Testing in Canada and Australia is essentially about testing the English-language features with a smaller audience so that in the future wider release can be rolled out smoothly and without any hitches. Because FB announced in publicly so there is a high possibility that it will be released in other regions really soon. This is a smart move for FB because it is lot less risky to release room as a feature on FB rather than a standalone app. A lot fewer resources will be needed to be poured into this and it is more convenient to use on FB because you are already using it.
