Some versions of the iPhone 8, which are likely to be presented in September 2017, will be equipped with 3D cameras.
Some South Korean sources reports, LG will supply the 3D camera module that Apple has in mind for some iPhone models for next year.
It is noteworthy that the 3D camera is again a digging up. Between 2010 and 2012, a total of four smartphones appeared with a 3D camera, the Samsung W960 AMOLED 3D, LG Optimus 3D, HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D Max. Some of these devices also had a 3D display. These devices, however, not became a great success and smartphone manufacturers were therefore not benefited enough to further develop this technique.
It is unclear what plans Apple has for a 3D camera. The current iPhone 7 Plus already has a dual camera. It is mainly used for extra sharpness and to focus more on certain topics which, for example, can make the background blurred.
However, the question is whether Apple actually plans to add a 3D camera on the anticipated iPhone 8 or it is just a further development of the dual camera configuration of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
