It looks like Facebook has decided to give us a heart attack. Just a few weeks ago, it mistakenly declared a number of its users as well as Mark Zuckerberg dead. And now, the social media has started haunting its users again by reposting old posts and photos.
Old posts marked with new dates
Users on iOS started reporting on Friday that they say their old posts re-emerge on their timeline as if they have just shared them.
It wasn’t sure whether it’s a glitch or someone hacked Facebook, but it surely freaked people out.

It seems Facebook is recycling old posts randomly. As if 2016 weren't weird enough.

“Facebook is running amok and posting old photos to my timeline as if they were just taken,” shared Michael Grant in a Facebook post. “Some sort of artificial intelligence come to life?”
There were also complaints beyond re-sharing old posts. A user named Kevin Foad complained that besides re-posting his old posts (including the one he deleted), Facebook also blocked him from status updates.
#facebook is posting pictures (1530 GMT) from years ago; even ones I deleted. Blocked me from status update. Anyone having the same problem?

The reason behind this incident is still not sure. Some say it definitely has something to do with the latest iOS update. Others suggested the glitch might be related to the social network’s other features that dip into past content to ramp up engagement among users, such as “On This Day” and “Year-in-Review.” The company spokesperson already informed PC Magazine that it was aware of the glitch and is investigating to fix it. And with its share of fails this year, Facebook better fix this problem as soon as possible.
