It looks like Apple is running out of ideas with their Apple Watch software update as they have been facing a problem with bricking watches during their new update watchOS 3.1.1. Many users are facing the problem with the software update recently. If you have already updated the software and your Apple Watch has been bricked by itself (Exclamation sign) then you are one of the people who is facing this nightmare. Though the update has not been rolling out over the air for public use, some developers are facing this problem with no solution than returning their watch to the Apple Store.
Bricking is permanent
Some developers have already updated the software to watchOS 3.1.1 and they have faced a red exclamation point on their watch faces. There is no option to recover from this stage as the software will not get downgraded according to some users. In that moment you have only one thing to do; turn off your Apple Watch!
This seems to be a permanent problem for this watchOS version. The best option to recover this problem is to simply exchange it in an Apple Store. It’s not affecting everyone but bricking is permanent.
One Redditor explained. “I knew something was wrong last night when the update status with the filled circle completed but the watch never restarted. I left it running overnight and got the exclamation point when I woke up. Express replacement on its way!”
