How fast is your broadband internet connection? Christine Conder is the owner of a local internet service provider (ISP) called B4RN, which has 35 times faster internet connection compared to the average internet speed in the UK. The ISP has installed 2000 miles of fiber cables and accumulated around 2300 local users so far.
Slow internet connection is a form of torture that we have all experienced in this age of the internet. The solutions are either to call the ISP and post a complaint or pay another ISP for faster internet.
However, Christine Conder decided to take the matter into her own hands and came up with the perfect solution for her neighbor’s terrible internet connection, as per BBC.
The idea was implemented initially in 2009 that eventually gave birth to B4RN, which has a speed of 1 gigabit per second provided for all the citizens of Lune Valley in Lancashire. All the large trees surrounding her farm were also one of the reasons for a lousy internet connection.
Seeing no other solution to this problem, Mrs. Conder had dug a trench for lining one-kilometer length of fiber cable. B4RN has claimed to have covered 2000 miles using the cable by integrating an area to the network.
Mrs. Conder’s extraordinary contribution has been recognized by the Queen of England and was also awarded an MBE in 2015!
Don’t forget to comment as TTN would love to know if you have also invented any means of ensuring the fastest internet speed.
