One of the major causes of house fires lies inside our kitchen, the stoves we use to cook. So, focusing on kitchen safety, Inirv has launched the Inirv React at the CES 2017, promising to give your stoves a safety feature to prevent accidental fires.
The system consists of a series of powered dials that replace the current knob of your stove, and a sensor that is installed on the ceiling. You can also reattach the dials on top of the old knobs without replacing them. The sensor acts as a fire detector and comes with the ability to sense motion as well. The knobs will glow blue if everything goes normal. They will turn red if there’s anything wrong.
Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten to turn off the stove
If the sensor can detect you’re not in the kitchen for a long time, Inirv React will automatically turn off your stove. Same happens if it can detect the extreme level of smoke or gas. The knobs are mechanically powered and ideal for any existing stove range. You can easily remove them and recharge the battery.
Control with your smartphone
Besides, the device also comes with React’s app, which lets you control your stove using your smartphone. However, what disappoints me is there’s no option for the oven fire. Hopefully, the company will focus on that fact in the future.
Inirv React is currently on Kickstarter where you can pre-order for $199. No doubt the price is way cheaper than burning your house down. The estimated delivery of this device is December 2017.
