Changing the music while you’re driving or playing is kind of a struggle we all have to face every day. However, there’s a new app named Melody that lets you play music using voice commands. Created by Speak Music, this app is free and able to broadcast music from your library, YouTube, iHeartRadio, as well as Spotify (premium subscription only). It means, whenever you want to listen to music, just use your voice command instead of fumbling with your phone.
“Finding and playing music on your phone while engaging in other activities, such as driving, sports, or many other activities is difficult and disruptive,” a spokesperson told VentureBeat. “We created a platform that allows users to simply speak what they want to hear and it plays, instantly.”
To use Melody app, first open it and connect any of your favorite music services that support the app. just tap the microphone then and give it a voice command. You can request any particular song, genre, artist to play. For instance, you can say “Play some Green Day,” or “Play the radio.” As the app leverages artificial intelligence, it can also act as your personal assistant. Simply make it play your favorite tracks by saying “Play some good music,” or teach it by saying “Play my morning song.” If you want your music to play on third party speaker, first you’ll have to pair your phone with the speaker and select the device through your phone. The Same process will follow if you want to sync Melody with your Apple TV.
According to Speak Music, Melody is “a platform that comes as a consumer app, as well as is licensing its technology to consumer electronics manufacturers to build and create intelligent headphones and Bluetooth speakers that allow access to multiple streaming services through voice control.”
Melody is currently available only on iOS. An Android version is expected to be released early 2017.
