It happens, always. Whenever I search the perfect subtitles for a movie or TV show I ended up with the wrong one. Even if I found the right subtitles there’s a big possibility that it would be malware-ridden. However, there’s a new app now thanks to Dutch developer Giel Cobben, who has made picking the right subtitles easier than ever.
Named Caption, this is a handy desktop app, which helps you find the right subtitles for any TV shows or movies you like to watch. Its ‘drag and drop’ feature lets you find and download subtitles by dropping the file inside Caption without any effort. Once Caption has spotted the right one, just double-click on the file to play the video – with the captions integrated. You don’t have to manually rename the subtitles to match the title of the movie. Caption will automatically do that for you. The best part is you can easily find captions in your local language as the app supports diverse of languages.
Caption is currently only available for macOS. However, its developer Cobben makes a promise that the app will soon land on other operating systems. He is currently working on a cross-platform solution. Its code is entirely open source. So, you can have a look at the code available at GitHub and also make some changes if you want.
