Dubai brings the first passenger drone

Dubai is materializing the idea of ferrying humans by drone. Country’s Roads and Transportation Agency’s head Mattar Al Tayer confirmed the news. He said city will soon see drones are flying in the sky of Dubai. Within July in this year drones will be in action regularly around the city. Thusly, Dubai brings the first passenger drone.

How it works:

Watch Roads and Transportation Agency’s promotional video regarding the drone.

A Chinese institute manufactured the drone, E Hang 184. In an international summit, World Government Summit Al Tayer surprised people at the program saying, “This is not only a model. We have actually experimented with this vehicle flying in Dubai’s skies”.

EHang 184 has another name which is a personal flying vehicle (PFV) or passenger drone. The drone is already in Burj Al Arab.

Officials in Nevada helped to test the drone in 2016, May. And this can help to get a clearance from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.

However, thereby Dubai is defeating USA being the first city have flying passenger drone.

PFV is as large as a small car which carries a single person whose weight is maximum 260 pounds within a 10-mile radius. Additionally, the passenger can take a suitcase too. The egg shaped drone has four legs. Makers are predicting people will like it seeing the race-car like seat of EHang 184.

The drone can go up vertically as high as 11482.94 feet. Moreover, it can fly for 23 minutes at the sea level. Nonetheless, flying time for the vehicle has limitation. It can only fly for 23 minutes on battery. Flying range for the drone is maximum 31 miles. A control room will monitor the whole flight. The authority informed it will operate the drones at a speed of 62 miles per hour though its maximum speed is 100 miles per hour.
