Xiaomi held an event in Beijing at the National Convention Center. It launched two new tech items one is a smartphone called Mi 5C, and the other is a new processor built by Xiaomi called Surge S1.
The smartphone has a fingerprint scanner on the front and a 5.15” display with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. While a 12-megapixel camera is at the back of the phone. Furthermore, this smartphone has 3GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. There is also a 2860 mAh powered battery and more importantly, the entire thing is powered by the newly built octa-core Surge S1.
The new processor has 8 Cortex A53 cores. Half of them clocked at 2.2 GHz and the other half at 1.4 GHz. The GPU is Mali-T860, and there is VoLTE support. This processor is made on the 28 nm HPC process and it features “lower power consumption for daily use,” as indicated by the organization’s public statement.
