Tesla battery could solve South Australia’s energy problem within 100 days. In a recent interview with The Australian Financial Review Lyndon Rive, Solar City co-founder and energy division head of Tesla claimed that the Elon Musk-backed company is able to fix South Australia’s rising energy problem in no more than 100 days. And Mr. Musk just took this challenge to a whole new level. Besides backing Rive’s claim, he also promised if his company fails to fulfill the challenge within 100 days, he would offer the entire service free of charge. This is an offer quite impossible to refuse.
An offer you can’t refuse
South Australia is facing a lot of problem because of a dramatic rise in price with repeated blackouts. Moreover, because of the political climate in the state, the problem couldn’t be solved. Thus two separate coal plants have been closed down. Because of that incident, the wholesale prices raised to $14,000 per MWh. So, Elon Musk and his energy company have decided to help the state with its energy crisis.
@mcannonbrookes Tesla will get the system installed and working 100 days from contract signature or it is free. That serious enough for you?

When Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes asked Musk directly if the claim was genuine, Musk promised to make the whole service free of charge if his company fails to fulfill the challenge. He also shared his plans to offer South Australia the energy system at a cost of $250 per kWh and that would make the whole system value roughly $250 million. However, it’s still unknown when he and his company will move forward with this project.
