Kids these days are pretty smart, even in handling smartphones. So, it’s natural for the parents to worry if their children are doing something wrong. While you can’t isolate them from the technology altogether, you can at least control them. And Google’s new Family Link app is here to help.
Monitor your Kid’s activity on smartphone
Family Link is a parental control app that lets you keep an eye on your little one’s Android device. If you have a kid aged 13 or below, this app is perfect for you. With the help of this app, you can always keep track on what apps your kid is downloading. You can also put a restriction on downloading unsafe apps.
Limit the time
Does your kid spend so much time on smartphones? If yes, it’s time to put a time limit. This app allows you to monitor how much time your kid is spending on mobile phones and lets you set a screen time limit. You can also view weekly or monthly activity stats through this app.
Now you can let your kids enjoy the phone with the power in your hand. Family Link comes with a bedtime feature that allows you to set a certain time when the phone will automatically lock itself. You can also put a pause on the device manually for homework or dinner. Besides, you can manage SafeSearch settings, review app permissions, and track your kid’s location.
You’re required to create a new Google account for your kid through Family Link to set up the app. you can use these credentials to sign in on your kid’s phone. To run this app, you will need a device running at least Android 4.4 KitKat and your kid needs a device running on Android 7.0 Nougat or above.
Family Link is currently an invite-only beta and limited to the U.S. After getting feedback from the users, Google will release the app to the masses.
