Amazon has added a strange feature for its prime members. The latest version of its shopping app comes with an “Outfit Compare” tool that judges your clothing.
If you’re an Amazon prime user you’ll find this feature under “Programs and Features” section. That’s the area where you’d usually find all its latest services and offerings.
Using “Outfit Compare” feature is quite easy. You have to upload two photos of you wearing two different outfits. Some real stylists hired by Amazon will judge your clothes based on how they fit, trends, your style, and how the colors of your outfit look on you. A minute later you’ll get a response on which outfit looks better on you. The ranking will be from “Definitely Pick This One!” to “We Like This Better” to “It Was A Close Call.” Amazon suggests you take both of your photos with the same background, but full-body mirror selfies would work just fine.
Amazon knows how you care for your own privacy. The company assures the photos you take for comparing will only be seen by its staff. Once you delete the images from your in-app experience, the copies associated with your account will also be removed.
“Outfit Compare” is surely a fun tool, but I just don’t understand why the company is putting so much effort and manpower just for a fashion related tool. However, the way it’s been steadily pushing its way into fashion over the past several years, such as launching its own fashion brands, and a makeup TV show called Style Code Live, this step isn’t that surprising. The feature is currently available only on iOS, but Amazon is also planning an Android version.
