Instagram stories now has 200 million daily users. Snapchat, the one who introduced the feature in the first place, has 158 million. It seems unfair that Instagram stories has surpassed Snapchat. That an imitation would take over the original.
Maybe it’s easier to use
The new numbers were announced this Thursday via Instagram’s blog. It left us wondering why is it that people are preferring it over Snapchat. One reason may be because of Snapchat’s user interface, which anyone born before the year 2000 finds confusing. I know I certainly do.
Another may be that instead of app hoping, you can get the rush of having an ephemeral story in the same place as your artsy coffee pics.
And that’s not all
If you have one job, best to do it right. Along with copying Snapchat’s stories, you also get pinned stickers in Instagram. Liked Snapchat’s geostickers? No problem, that’s on Instagram too! So if you reside in, or are traveling to, Chicago, London, Madrid, or Tokyo you can give a geosticker in your next Instagram story.
Though it should be mentioned that the ability to make stickers out of your selfies is Instagram’s idea.
It’s interesting that Snapchat has not said anything about Facebook’s constant copying of their features.
