Raspberry Pi 3, the third generation Raspberry Pi circuit with a built-in Wi-Fi to save users from the trouble of looking for an adapter to connect to the internet. Raspberry’s progress and its latest features appeared so far have baffled users before, including its third generation Pi 3.
According to Gordon Hollingworth, the Director of Engineering at Raspberry Pi,
It’s been a year of careful planning, development, manufacturing and testing to get to today’s release. We had a number of last minute issues which we cleared up but the Pi 3 is now a product! WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth classic + BLE, quad A53 running at 1G with 64k L1$, 512k L2$, and 1G memory.
All the latest hardware configuration of Pi 3:
Apart from the built-in Wi-Fi support, the Raspberry Pi 3 is also packed with a next-gen Quad Core Broadcom BCM2837 64-bit ARMv8 processor; hence, raising its speed from 900 MHz to 1.2 GHz on the latest Raspberry Pi 3 board. A $35 circuit board compressed with massive speed already sounds too good to be true!
Comprising all the latest features with a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) integrated on the Raspberry Pi 3 circuit to serve as an outstanding IoT solution.
Furthermore, with an improved power source that delivers 2.5A of current instead of 2.0A for allowing users to charge devices of further power through its USB.
Please note that the power supply of 5V 2A still performs remarkably well with the latest Pi 3; hence, you don’t necessarily have to own a 2.5A power supply if you’re already using the old one.
Lastly, for keeping things familiar for users the latest Raspberry Pi 3 has similar structure and connectors as that of Pi 2, except for a few changes in its LEDs. Most of the existing accessories will still function on Pi 2 and Pi B+.
Dimension of the chip: 86.9mm x 58.5mm x 19.1mm / 3.4″ x 2.3″ x 0.8″
Product mass: 41.2g
It seems to me that the Raspberry Pi will continue to upgrade and it does not intend to stop. We can simply wait for now to find out what Raspberry Pi 4 will have to offer.
