How many of you believe Android is far easier to use than iOS? Do you think you have unraveled all the functions of androids? Here are 10 hidden Android features and tips that most of you are unaware of. This article covers the first 5, find the second part to know the rest.
Hidden developer options
This is something that is comparatively familiar to some people than the rest of the features I will mention below but nonetheless, this feature couldn’t be left out. This feature opens door to many functions that you can access to any version of Android from 6 and above.
Go to setting, go to about phone, scroll down to find build number. Keep clicking build number till the countdown starts and tell you, “you are now a developer”. Then on whenever you go to settings, you will find a lot more options than you did before.
When you scroll down developer options, you will find animation scale. This basically controls how fast or slow your phone is while transitioning from one app to another or one task to another. You could change it to whatever speed you prefer to.
This particular feature is extremely useful. The reason it is useful at least to me is that at times I get a notification on my phone which I accidentally swipe off or it disappears after some time, which I am sure happened to many of you too.
What you do is create a new widget by long pressing the home screen. Go to widgets to find the setting shortcut which you need to drag it to the home screen. From all the options, you will get from clicking it, choose the notification log. There you will find all the recent notifications that you have missed.
Offline google maps
What it lets you do is select a large area in google map that will be downloaded and stored on your phone. Downloading area few miles around your house would help you drive around without having the internet on or GPS on. It has 2 benefits, one is it will save cellular data and two- you don’t have to wait and download map data every time. Handy? I would say so. Also, it will automatically update data under Wi-Fi without you fussing too much about it.
Hidden built in file explorer
If you go to setting and then storage to click the button ‘explore’ and now you can search for a file, move them, explore them without any help of a third-party app.
All these that you just read are extremely easy to find and definitely extremely useful. And if it did come handy, watch out for part two.
