2010 was the year Steve Jobs introduced the first iPad as a product that sat somewhere between the laptop and the smartphone, excelling at tasks like browsing the web, reviewing photos and watching videos.
2017 & Timothy D. Cook, Mr. Jobs’ successor, improvised the idea with the new iPad Pro. An advanced tablet that works with Apple’s keyboard and stylus. In response to iPad Pro replacing PC, Mr. Cook stated-
“They will start using it and conclude they no longer need to use anything else, other than their phones.”
In contrast, previous reports say many professionals claimed they use iPad in ADDITION to a personal computer. Sales of iPads have shrunk quarter after quarter for more than a year, an indication that hordes of people were not trading in their PCs for tablets just yet.
The new iPad Pro is supposed to be a game changer released on 5th June.
The professional tablet comes with two different sizes 10.5 or 12.9 diagonal inches.
Faster- A10X Fusion chip that includes a 12-core graphics processor.
six-core CPU: three for high performance & another three for high efficiency.
The speed boost makes the new iPad Pro better at intense tasks like juggling multiple apps, editing high-resolution photos and playing graphics-heavy games.
True tone display:2,224×1,668-pixel resolution (264 ppi) and a wide color gamut, ultralow reflectivity with 600 nits brightness and HDR video support.
Brighter display and a higher refresh rate that makes motion look buttery smooth.
The increase in size was purposed for the benefit of typing. iPad Pro tags along with a smart keyboard with a protective cover and built in magnet for attachment. The tablet rests on top of the keyboard, held in place by a magnet.

The smart keyboard is so thin and clicking is not as comfy as MacBook or a regular laptop. 10.5-inch comparatively is still on the narrow line on size.
The other issue is, using a keyboard along with touch is less preferred than a mouse or laptop trackpad.
Example: You want to share a link to a post, it gets you to typing and lifting your hand to the search bar to get links, that is quite irritating.
An artist or an illustrator can use it as a standalone device but only with the Apple Pencil.
If you are looking forward only to browse or watching movies a standard iPad which costs only $329 is good enough.
10.5-inch display: $649 with keyboard $808
12.9-inch display: $799 with keyboard $968
“I think if you’re looking at a PC, why would you buy a PC anymore? No really, why would you buy one?”
