Jim DuBois, one of Microsoft’s top executives, who joined in 1993 and has been playing various roles in the company left just a few days ago due to the laying-off of a massive number of its employees. The exact reason has not been revealed yet. It is being guessed that as the company is focusing on cloud computing systems, Microsoft recently reorganized its Global sales staff where the company has re-titled DuBois as a chief digital officer (CDO) therefore, DuBois might have left the company, since 2013 the software giant appointed him to play the role of a CIO in the company.

Well, instead of Jim DuBois now Kurt DelBene who is also one of Microsoft’s old employees, currently working in the company as the head of corporate strategy, will take the responsibilities of DuBois, the Chief Digital Officer but will not carry the title of CIO. By the way, Kurt DelBene worked with the Obama administration as the leader of Obama Healthcare.gov, the official portal for healthcare services under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
On Thursday, it was a really shocking day for Microsoft’s employees as without mentioning the number, the software giant confirmed that it has cut off a number of jobs which would particularly affect employees in the USA. Nevertheless, CNBC the online news portal reported that the total laying off might be 10 percent of Microsoft’s total salesforce meaning it may be over a thousand. That’s a huge number indeed.
We feel really sorry for Jim DuBois and for those who lost their jobs in Microsoft but as always we are wishing them the best, and hope that very soon their fortune will knock on their doors to take them to a new job.
