If you’re often exhausted to even pick up your phone for checking the data usage, then you must learn about Vodafone introducing the latest Amazon Echo skill that allows you to input voice based commands. The machine will be able to distinguish your voice from another and will only perform your commands.
Amazon Echo and Echo Dot!
The combined functionalities of Echo and Dot enable users to inquire various data on personal Vodafone account. The details include billing information and remaining packages to be used.
The first step is authenticating your personal profile using Echo, and then to let you access other features through the Vodafone account.
The feature will be available in Google Home, yet, the developers aren’t sure about Apple’s decision to integrate this feature into its HomePod smart speaker that is to come out later this year.
Will people actually use it?
Despite all the hype, Vodafone is still unsure of its subscribers if they are actually going to use this feature. The Director of Customer Operations told TechRadar at an event that the skill was designed by one of their employees whose seven-hour hard work was the result of the skill on a Saturday.
“If it’s the future or not, we don’t know. But we want to see what it can do and whether customers will use it or not.”
The precise date for the launch still remains a mystery but Vodafone promised to reveal within late summer of this year.
Likely devices to be compatible:
The Alexa will be compatible on Huawei Mate 9 and HTC U11 implying that the voice assistant search will become widely accessible across numerous devices very soon.
A newer method of communication will be installed for subscribers using the online chatbot called TOBi. It will always be stationed on MyVodafone support app.
