I don’t use Twitter much but there is one thing which I love about it, and that’s its night mode. I have been wishing for a dark mode on YouTube for a while now. And sure, you could get a plugin from the Chrome store that does the job, but now the latest YouTube update brings a dark mode, and it’s about time!
What took you so long?
The white and red color combo looks great at day time. But try looking at it in your room after the sun goes down from your laptop or phone, and you will feel as though the sun itself is passing through the lens of your eyes.
By bringing a dark mode, it has made the UI look a lot cooler. The red and dark gray is reminiscent of one of my favorite YouTubers, Marques Brownlee, or how he likes to be called MKBHD.
There is something so sexy about dark gray and red! It makes me wonder as to why Google didn’t implement it earlier. Like way back in 2012! I guess it’s better late than never.
With the YouTube dark mode finally here, is it wrong for us to hope that other apps may take the similar route? Can you imagine how a dark mode for FaceBook will look? I’m sure the designers at Facebook are not able to imagine such a sight.
