Google Drive and Photos have been popular backup web drives. Sadly, the era of Google Drive and Photos has come to an end. Google has already announced-“The earlier sync client, Drive for Mac/PC, will no longer be supported as of December 11, 2017”. On March of 2018, history will store the memory of Google Drive and/or Photos as it will shut off completely. Don’t worry yet, nothing really ends.
Backup and Sync
Rebirth of the Drive is already in a place named Backup and Sync. This newborn app of Google has been granted the birthright from both Drive and Photos. This new app will let you preserve or share both files and photos or videos at once. It can Backup and Sync files and photos from PC folders, USB keys, and SD cards to the cloud. All that makes this baby more available and friendly to the user.
Cross the Loss
Uploading images to Google Drive cuts off spaces from the device unless you upload them to Photos choosing quality as ‘high’ not ‘Original’. The original setting also cost your device space. Google hinted out the last words for the Drive burial as “Drive for Mac/PC is going away.”
Drive File Stream
The other App on the store available to download besides Backup and Sync. It does the same thing in a bit different orientation. Drive file lets Access files in Team Drives or Sync only individual files in My Drive. It’s built for enterprise and business users. Dare to know more?
The new app on the map seems easier to access rather than the soon to be gone old Google Drive. The logo changed to look a lot like One Drive with an arrow in the middle.
